"Azerenerji" JSC has started the construction of the Zangazur high-voltage power line to connect the main energy system of the country with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Along the Araz River, a 74 km long line is planned from Jabrayil to Aghbend, and parallel to it, a 105 km long, double-circuit 330 kV high-voltage transmission line with a capacity of 1000 MW will be constructed from Nakhchivan to Ordubad to the Armenian border.
Economic expert Ilham Shaban evaluated this as the launch of the Zangazur energy corridor in his statement to Medianews.az.
He noted that some time ago, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced that the energy systems would be connected with Azerbaijan and that energy exchange would be carried out in the future.
