A historic result has been recorded for Azerbaijani football in the UEFA Champions League. Despite a heavy away defeat in the 8th round of the group stage, "Qarabağ" ranked 22nd in the tournament table, advanced to the next stage, and achieved an important success in the club's history.
In the 8th round of the UEFA Champions League group stage, the home team gained a great advantage in the match "Liverpool" (England) – "Qarabağ".
According to Musavat.com, in the match held at "Anfield" stadium, the score opened in the 15th minute with a goal by Alexis Mac Allister. In the 21st minute, Florian Wirtz scored to bring the score to 2:0, and the teams went to the break with this result.
In the second half, Liverpool's pressure continued. In the 50th minute, Mohamed Salah scored the third goal.
