Against the backdrop of the weakening of the US dollar and record rises in stock markets, financial risks are increasing.
Germany's financial regulatory authority, BaFin, warns that markets are currently fragile and volatile.
The authority states that investors are ignoring dangers such as war and trade conflicts, as well as high national debt in countries. It is also not yet known whether the rapid development in artificial intelligence is long-term.
BaFin's head, Mark Branson, said that sudden market downturns are possible. He emphasized that investment advice spread on social media also attracts people to riskier investments.
