A serious traffic accident in the Tartar district resulted in the death of two people.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred yesterday around noon in the area of Tazakend village of the district. A "Mercedes" car driven by 64-year-old Adil Ahmadov, a resident of Barda district, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a "DAF" truck.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car, Adil Ahmadov, and his wife Elza Amirova died at the scene. The truck driver sustained various injuries.
According to initial assumptions, the accident was caused by the "Mercedes" driver falling asleep at the wheel.
The Main State Traffic Police Department, addressing drivers regarding the incident, especially urged not to drive vehicles in a tired and sleepy state in hot weather conditions and to rest regularly during long trips.
