Honored artist, well-known director Nicat Kazimov explained the reason why he once opposed his actor son Sanan Kazimov choosing this profession.
He admitted that he wanted his child to work in a more comfortable and profitable field:
"It is clear that no parent wants their child to endure the hardships they went through. My father was also against me coming into this profession. He just was not involved in this art, he was imagining it from the outside and did not want it. As for me, being inside the art, I did not want my child to experience these difficulties. I wanted him to have more opportunities. Especially, I invested an excessive amount in his education so that he could study well in high school, attend the best schools, and get the best preparation. Then he could become a doctor, lawyer, banker, or work in a field where he would not face these hardships. Since childhood, he acted in plays. I thought it was just a child’s interest that would pass."
Nicat Kazimov emphasized that he is proud of his son's successes today:
"For many years now, he has been performing at Azerbaijan’s biggest events and stages, and is loved by spectators. Today, the number of people who know and love him is much greater than the number of those who know and love me. I can only be proud of this. At first, I did not want it, but later I set a condition that if he wanted to be an actor, it would not be here, but that he should enroll in a university in Turkey. And that year it happened that the only available spot was at Zonguldak University. However, he had already been accepted to a university here. We went to Zonguldak University together, I did not like the place. Later, the department head said, 'What will you learn here?' which I did not like. I asked, 'Do you want to study here?'. He said, 'No'. At that moment, I took him and returned to Baku." (Axşam.az)
