A 990 million gambling claim, millions of transfers

Turkey's well-known singer Haluk Levent has been detained in Bursa within the framework of the investigation related to the "Ahbap" association he founded.

Medianews.az, citing the Turkish press, reports that he is accused of violating the requirements of the "Associations Law," laundering assets obtained through crime, and being a member of a criminal organization.

According to the information, Haluk Levent went to the airport to travel to Germany and bought a ticket. However, after learning that a ban was imposed on his exit from the country, he returned home.

It is reported that later he turned off his phones and moved in the direction of Izmir and was detained in the city of Bursa.

According to the investigation's claim, Haluk Levent participated in gambling bets totaling 990 million Turkish lira (21 million US dollars) between 2020 and 2026 and lost 390 million lira (8 million 300 thousand US dollars).

Furthermore, according to the claim, 120 million Turkish lira (2 million 554 thousand dollars) were transferred from the "Ahbap" association's account to the account of the singer’s assistant Yeliz Kaya.
