D. Demidik noted that inactivity is one of the main causes of joint injuries. The doctor warned that if a person remains immobile for 8-10 hours constantly sitting on a couch, armchair, or chair, the joints begin to dry out, lose their elasticity and mobility, and blood circulation worsens. According to him, a sedentary lifestyle most negatively affects the hip and knee joints as well as the spine.

The doctor also classified some sports activities as risky habits. He explained that exercises easily performed at age 20 may not be equally safe after 40, and as one ages, it is important to choose lighter and more suitable exercises.

Additionally, excess weight, nutritional deficiencies, and unbalanced diets can also cause joint wear.

"One of the main problems is the deficiency of proteins, vitamin D, calcium, and magnesium, which worsen the condition of the musculoskeletal system. The consumption of diseases currently in fashion—foods called fast food—increases inflammatory processes," the doctor stated.
