A civilian cargo ship carrying grain in the Black Sea was subjected to a missile attack by Russia. 

Medianews.az reports that according to the Ukrainian Navy, the "Golden Leo" cargo ship, flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau and owned by a Turkish company, was hit by three X-59/X-69 cruise missiles while carrying grain through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

According to the information, the missiles struck the upper part of the ship, resulting in a fire on board. Initial reports indicate that five people have died, eight crew members were rescued and evacuated, and five others are missing. Search and rescue operations continue, and the technical condition of the ship is being assessed.

The Ukrainian Navy stated that the attack was carried out against an unarmed civilian ship, describing it as a gross violation of international humanitarian law and an act of terrorism against peaceful shipping.

Andrii Sibiha, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said that the attack occurred several hours after missile and drone strikes were launched against Kyiv during the night. According to him, the ship's crew included citizens of Syria and India, and among the deceased are a Ukrainian naval pilot and four crew members.
