Two French diplomats were subjected to an "extremely serious intimidation act" by the Iranian security forces.
Medianews.az, citing "The Times of Israel" newspaper, reports that this was stated by France's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian.
According to the minister, one day earlier the French diplomats were unjustly detained and interrogated for several hours: "Officers of the Iranian law enforcement treated them harshly, and one of the diplomats was even subjected to physical violence. After the interrogation, they returned to the French embassy."
Le Drian called the incident a "gross violation of diplomatic immunity."
