Farmers in Armenia have blocked the Yerevan-Yeraskh road due to the problem of tomato sales.
Medianews.az reports that local "News.am" agency has released information about this.
According to the information, the participants in the protest are demanding the resolution of the sales problem. Protesters have stopped their vehicles on the road, and despite the police officers' demands, they have ignored the requirement to clear the road.
According to one of the participants in the protest, the authorities promise every year to solve the product sales problem, but the situation is worsening. Farmers note that although their products are intended for the domestic market, difficulties with exports negatively affect sales within the country as well.
Farmers are demanding either extensions on loans or the resolution of the product purchase problem. Otherwise, they have threatened to move on to tougher protest actions.
