A woman who married three times in five months in India is being investigated by the police.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
According to the information, the identities of the woman and her husbands are not disclosed. Law enforcement agencies are investigating whether the marriages were officially registered or if they only consisted of wedding ceremonies.
Since polygamy is prohibited in India and divorce requires court procedures, getting married three times in a short period is considered unusual. The police do not rule out the possibility that the woman might have had fraudulent intentions.
Currently, the woman's relatives and neighbors are being questioned. The investigation is ongoing. If a violation of the law is confirmed, the woman may face a fine.
