The company "Netflix" faced a lawsuit in the state of Texas, USA.
Medianews.az reports that the Texas Attorney General's Office accuses the company of collecting children's data without permission and using it for advertising purposes.
According to the accusation, functions like "autoplay" were deliberately implemented on the "Netflix" platform to keep users on the screen for a longer period, and it is stated that these methods can create addiction for children.
It is claimed that the company transferred user data to advertising technology companies. The Texas side also states that "Netflix"'s statements regarding data protection are misleading.
"Netflix," however, denied the accusations, declaring that they take data protection seriously and comply with laws.
The court lawsuit demands the company delete illegally collected data and pay fines in case of violations.
