The companies "Nissan" and "Toyota" have started to impose limits on the supply of synthetic engine oils and reduce the volumes sent to dealers. Thus, the lubricants crisis is becoming increasingly severe day by day.
The supply of "5W-30" and "0W-20" oils, prepared according to the special requirements of automobile manufacturers, is being normalized by "Nissan." Over the past week, the supply of "5W-30" oil has decreased by 70% compared to last year, and the supply of "0W-20" oil has decreased by up to 55%.
"Toyota," on the other hand, has warned its dealers about the probable shortage of "0W-8" and "0W-16" oils. As a result, dealers are advised to find alternative options.
The report states that approximately half of the Group III base oils used in the production of synthetic oils are imported from the USA.
The Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association predicts that Group III base oils coming to the USA from the Persian Gulf region will run out by June.
According to the association's assumption, this shortage caused by the conflict in the Middle East may continue until mid-2027./Oxu.Az
