Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded French President Emmanuel Macron the "Order of Liberty" state honor.
Medianews.az reports that the Ukrainian leader stated this on social media following his meeting in Paris with his French counterpart.
According to him, the relations between the two countries have reached a strategic level largely thanks to Macron's personal efforts.
Zelensky also said that the parties discussed the situation on the front line, Ukraine's needs to strengthen air defense, as well as priorities ahead of meetings of coalitions of willingness regarding missile defense.
"We thoroughly discussed the situation on the front and Ukraine's needs in protecting citizens from Russian attacks. It is important to strengthen Ukraine, reinforce our air defense system, and accelerate the development of Europe's missile defense system. France has the necessary capabilities and advanced technologies to assist in this work. We will work together with our allies in this direction," he added.
