There is serious dissatisfaction regarding the destruction of a citizen's lawful property by local authorities in Sumgait city and the violation of property rights. While other undocumented and occupied plots in the area were left untouched, the claims of targeting only the citizen with official title deed make it necessary to thoroughly investigate the issue on a legal basis.
Regarding the matter, Taleh Tapdıq oğlu Dadashov, who sent a complaint letter to the media, stated that the individual residential house and the land plot located at the address of Sumgait city, north of the "Samur-Absheron" canal, New Residential area, 4th quarter, house 1/1, are completely legal and confirmed by an extract from the state registry: "I possess an individual residential house of 60.70 square meters and a privately-owned land plot of 0.06 hectares, with the official document — extract number 30901303044-10301 from the registry. The neighbors to my right and left have no legal documents related to their land and property, and their areas fall entirely into the category of occupied land.
It is also clearly visible from video footage that fences have been erected in the area, the road is intact, and as a citizen holding legal documents, I had constructed my fence fully parallel to the neighbors on each side.”
According to him, on July 7, representatives of the relevant authorities caused significant damage to his property without any justified warning: "On July 7, several officials brought a tractor and special equipment to the area and demolished the fences which are my lawful property, causing me substantial financial damage. The main question and purpose of our inquiry are why this severe intervention by the relevant authorities and the claim of ‘occupied part’ — meaning the alleged seizure of an additional 20 square meters beyond my property — are applied only to me, who holds an official document? If a law is enforced, will this process also continue with the neighbors on the right and left, whose lands are completely undocumented and occupied, or is this approach selectively applied only against one citizen? The relevant authorities should clarify in what legal form and according to what criteria this process will proceed, as well as whether compensation will be provided for the damage caused to me."
