On July 13, Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with World Customs Organization (WCO) Secretary General John Sonders, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WCO was discussed.

It was noted that the meeting expressed satisfaction with the development of long-term and effective partnership between Azerbaijan and the World Customs Organization.
The ongoing reforms implemented in Azerbaijan's customs system were discussed, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the WCO in applying international standards in this regard.
Exchanges of views took place on projects related to facilitating international trade, modernizing customs procedures, and ensuring the resilience of global supply chains.
Attention was also paid to expanding customs cooperation within the framework of regional and international transport corridors, particularly the development of the Middle Corridor and strengthening transit potential.
During the meeting, prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WCO in various directions were discussed.
Shahin Bagirov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, also participated in the meeting.
