Medianews.az, citing AZƏRTAC, reports that these words were said by Azerbaijan national team's head coach Ayxan Abbasov, whose team won against the Saint Lucia selection with a score of 6:1 within the framework of the international tournament “FIFA Series – 2026.”
He stated that it was difficult to play in such weather, but the players were well prepared for the game: “There are new players in the squad. We tried to get the players well prepared for the match. The boys fought until the end. We will play with a different system in the match against Sierra Leone.”
The specialist emphasized that the result is important in the team’s matches: “My players had the desire to score goals and win. We must win in the UEFA Nations League. There is competition in the national team.”
