Azerbaijan's semi-annual foreign trade

In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 173 countries, recording exports worth 16.3 billion dollars and imports worth 8.3 billion dollars.

According to Medianews.az, the report published by the State Customs Committee states that 10.7 billion dollars of the exports came from the oil and gas sector, 3.6 billion dollars from gold, and 14.3 million dollars from electric energy. The remaining main export products are ranked as follows:

fruits and vegetables – 493.9 million dollars;

chemical industry products – 149 million dollars;

plastics and products made from them – 144.8 million dollars;

aluminum and products made from it – 141.5 million dollars;

cotton fiber – 126.6 million dollars;

sugar – 71.9 million dollars;

ferrous metals and products made from them – 59.3 million dollars;

alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, vinegar – 32.1 million dollars;

cotton yarn – 27.5 million dollars;

cement – 22.6 million dollars;

processed products of vegetables and fruits – 20.3 million dollars;

plant and animal fats and oils – 17.3 million dollars;

tea – 3.8 million dollars.

Imports under machinery, mechanisms, electrical apparatus, equipment and their parts amounted to 2 billion 10.5 million dollars, food products imports amounted to 1.3 billion dollars, and imports of vehicles and their parts amounted to 1.1 billion dollars.

Among the main import products are also:

ferrous metals and products made from them – 560.1 million dollars;

plastics and products made from them – 283.6 million dollars;

pharmaceutical products – 252.4 million dollars;

clothing and clothing accessories – 196.4 million dollars;

wood and products made from it – 190.5 million dollars;

tobacco and tobacco products – 70.7 million dollars;

furniture and its parts – 57.9 million dollars;

fertilizers – 50 million dollars;

gold – 15.2 million dollars.

It is reported that Italy stands out among trading and export partners, while China stands out among import partners.

According to the statement, 6.2 percent of exports were directed to CIS countries, 49.3 percent to European Union countries, and 44.5 percent to other countries; regarding imports, the CIS share was 20.3 percent, the European Union's share 15.4 percent, and other countries' share 64.3 percent.

Trade with neighboring countries has been formalized as follows:

Turkey – 1.6 billion dollars exports, 1.1 billion dollars imports;

Russia – 608.5 million dollars exports, 1.1 billion dollars imports;

Georgia – 502.8 million dollars exports, 72.1 million dollars imports from there;

Kazakhstan – 61.5 million dollars exports, 94.6 million dollars imports;

Turkmenistan – 34.2 million dollars exports, 19 million dollars imports;

Armenia – 17.1 million dollars exports, 0.96 thousand dollars imports;

Iran – 15.5 million dollars exports, 297 million dollars imports.
