The death toll from devastating earthquakes in Venezuela has reached 4,734 people.
Medianews.az reports, citing "Report," that this information was shared by Jorge Rodriguez, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Venezuela, on his "Telegram" channel.
According to the daily government report he published, 16,740 people have been injured, and 17,907 residents have been left homeless. 190 buildings have been completely destroyed, and another 856 buildings have suffered serious damage. During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people have been rescued. Medical assistance has been provided to 33,652 victims, and aid has been given to 128,324 families. Temporary camps have accommodated 20,903 people, and more than 10 thousand tons of food have been delivered to the victims.
It is worth recalling that on June 24, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 occurred in Venezuela about 40 seconds apart. After the main shocks, 1,275 aftershocks were recorded.
