False information is being spread on social networks and various messaging platforms about supposed compensation payments related to privatization checks, the necessity of registration, and contacting certain mobile numbers for this purpose.
According to Medianews.az, a joint statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) stated that the mentioned information does not reflect the truth and aims to cause confusion among citizens.
It was stated that citizens should not trust such fake announcements:
"They should not contact unknown phone numbers, under no circumstances provide their bank card details, identity card information, verification codes sent via SMS, or other personal-financial information to the other party, and also should not make any payments. Currently, investigations regarding these fake messages are underway."
