England national team and Spain's "Real Madrid" football midfielder Jude Bellingham scored in the third-place match against France at FIFA World Cup 2026.
Medianews.az citing Idman.Biz reports that Bellingham's goal brought the total number of goals scored by "Real Madrid" players in World Cups while playing for their national teams to 100. The Madrid club has gone down in history as the first club to achieve this milestone.
The 23-year-old footballer scored England's last goal in the 8th minute of added time. This was Bellingham's seventh goal at FIFA World Cup 2026. With this, he became the top scorer for the England national team in a single World Cup tournament.
"Real Madrid" teammate Kylian Mbappe also scored a double in the match. The captain of the France national team raised his total number of World Cup goals to 22, becoming the tournament's all-time top scorer.
England won the match 6-4, securing the bronze medal in the World Cup for the first time in their history. This is the team's second medal in the World Cup. England had been crowned world champions in 1966.
