The area of the forest fire in central Spain has exceeded 26,000 hectares.
Medianews.az reports that Emiliano Garcia-Paje, the head of the government of the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, shared this information on the social network "X".
The fire started on July 16 in the municipality of La Myerla.
According to the regional government chief, this is the largest fire recorded in the area. He emphasized that a record number of personnel and aviation equipment have been involved in combating the flames.
For safety reasons, residents of several settlements have been evacuated. It is reported that more than a thousand people have been relocated in total. No information has been provided about casualties as a result of the fire.
It is noted that the forest fire that started on July 9 in the autonomous community of Andalusia claimed the lives of 13 people. The majority of the deceased are foreigners.
