Great Britain has agreed to the US demand to use military bases within the framework of operations related to Iran.
Medianews.az reports that Britain's Prime Minister Keir Starmer has provided information regarding this matter.
He stated that the decision aims to prevent increasing missile and drone threats in the region, as well as to ensure the safety of British citizens. According to him, the bases have been opened for the US's "limited and defensive" operations.
The Prime Minister noted that the step is aimed at preventing Iran's missile attacks, protecting the civilian population, and stopping the targeting of non-conflict countries.
Starmer also recalled that earlier, in a joint statement with France and Germany, the possibility of supporting US and Israeli potential actions against Iran was discussed. The statement emphasized that "necessary and proportional defense measures" may be supported to protect interests and allies in the region.
