The World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku is also the focus of international media attention.

Within the framework of the forum, journalists and media representatives from various countries stated that the event was organized at a high level, and that the technological facilities and the environment created facilitate professional activities.

Medianews.az has learned about the impressions of foreign media representatives regarding the forum.

Elisio Muchanga, a journalist from Mozambique, said that it was his first time in Baku and expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere in the city: “There is a multinational environment here. Participants from almost every country are attending. It is my first time in Baku, and the atmosphere here is really great.”

Joseph Silali, head of the Africa bureau of Kenya's ABOS Africa News Agency media organization, highly appreciated the conditions created for the media in Baku.

He said that he had also been in Azerbaijan before at the COP29 event:
“There is a strong internet infrastructure here. It is very easy to establish communication and transfer materials. Press rooms and conference halls are organized at a high level. The technologies used are based on the latest innovations. Also, here we establish international connections with our colleagues from various countries.”

Kenyan journalist Rosa Agutu noted that the topics discussed at the Forum hold global importance: “This is a very important topic. Today, all countries face problems such as floods and inundations. The holding of such a forum in Azerbaijan is commendable. It is very positive that different countries come together here and share different approaches.”

Later, she also learned about our impressions for the media organization she represents.

Kenyan videographer James Momanyi did not hide his love for Azerbaijan: “I fell in love with Baku. I came two weeks ago and during this time I have visited Karabakh, Shusha, Fuzuli, and Zangilan. Especially the 'smart city' and 'smart home' projects impressed me a lot. People are very hospitable and we feel happy here.”

Finally, we thank volunteer Gulbahar Hasanli for the support shown.
