As we reported, on the night of May 5, five Azerbaijani citizens were killed and three injured as a result of drone strikes on two foreign cargo ships in the Azov Sea - the dry cargo ships "Natra" and "Zirkon".
The injured have been hospitalized in Yeysk city hospital in Russia.
There were a total of 25 Azerbaijani citizens on the crews of the ships.
According to preliminary information, the attacks occurred with a time difference of a little over one hour: "Natra" was hit at 00:45, and "Zirkon" at 01:55.
Neither of the ships belongs to the Azerbaijani state. Both ships were sailing under foreign flags.
Currently, official Azerbaijani bodies, diplomatic representations, as well as the authorized bodies of the relevant countries are coordinating regarding the issue.
Medianews.az has obtained information that one of the Azerbaijani citizens killed was the ship captain. It is reported that among the other deceased crew members were persons working as captain's assistant and chief mechanic.
