“The Charter on Strategic Partnership signed between Azerbaijan and the USA highlights three important lines.” Political analyst Aqshin Kerimov said this in an interview with Medianews.az.
A. Kerimov listed these three important lines as follows:
- The intention of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America to deepen civil nuclear cooperation,
- Prioritization of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America to facilitate the transit of critical minerals to global markets via the Middle Corridor,
- Declaration of a new level of cooperation in the field of security and defense industry.
Speaking about the first point, A. Kerimov noted that the activity of the USA in the field of civil nuclear energy, demonstrated in the South Caucasus, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, can make its positions favorable for the future: “This has special significance for Azerbaijan and Turkey as well. That cooperation is noteworthy in advancing the TRIPP corridor and strengthening its core.”
Regarding the second point, Azerbaijan softens the competition regime between the USA and China on the TRIPP route, which will be a component of the Middle Corridor, balancing the power rating in the region.
In the third point, the priorities of Azerbaijan and the USA in border security, anti-terror operations, and protecting maritime security are renewed.”
