On February 10, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree appointing Rəşad Sahil oğlu İsmayılov as the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.
Medianews.az reports that Rəşad İsmayılov, born in 1979, received his bachelor's and master's degrees in law at Baku State University.
He has held many responsible positions, including head of the department of the State Housing Construction Agency and head of the department of the Apparatus of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture.
Since August 15, 2024, he was the first deputy minister of ecology and natural resources.
The post of Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources had been vacant since February 5, 2025. On that day, Muxtar Babayev was dismissed from the minister position and appointed as the president's representative for climate issues.
