Images circulated on social networks about eggs have caused concern among people.
Medianews.az, referring to Milli.Az, reports that in the videos, it is claimed that eggs in some countries are artificially made. The yolk and white are formed using chemical substances, and the shell part is placed in a special mold.
So, are there such eggs in our country too?
Regarding the issue, food safety expert Mütallim Abdullazde stated that such products are not mass-produced worldwide.
According to him, creating artificial eggs from natural ones is both difficult and expensive:
"In many cases, such circulated videos are laboratory experiments or social media sensational videos. Currently, from a scientific and economic point of view, the production and mass sale of such eggs are not appropriate, and since the production of a normal egg is cheaper than an artificial egg, importing or selling that product in the country is still not considered proper."
So how can we distinguish between natural and artificial eggs?
The expert noted that the color of a natural egg tends more towards white. Artificial eggs, on the other hand, have a more transparent, shiny shell. Also, when cutting those eggs, the yolk and white may sometimes be mixed.
Regarding the matter, Mürvət Həsənli, head of the Azerbaijan Poultry Meat, Egg Producers and Exporters Association Public Union, stated that the demand for eggs is fully met. Import of eggs into the country is almost not carried out. Therefore, it is not possible for these claims to be real.
