Unexpected benefit of coffee: Interesting DISCOVERY from scientists

Japanese scientists have determined that coffee may help reduce gum inflammation.

Medianews.az reports that according to the study, chlorogenic acid found in coffee beans can reduce inflammation in gum tissue and weaken the growth of bacteria that cause gum diseases.

Laboratory experiments have shown that this substance reduces the production of molecules such as interleukin-1β and interleukin-8, which play an important role in the development of inflammation. It also slows the growth of some bacteria commonly found in the oral cavity.

According to the scientists, chlorogenic acid could be used in the future in the production of mouthwashes and other dental hygiene products.
