Igor Klimenko, the Minister of Internal Affairs, is expected to be appointed as the Minister of Defense in Ukraine.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk.
According to her, Klimenko will replace the current Minister of Defense Mikhail Fedorov and has sufficient political support to be appointed to this position.
It was noted that although Fedorov promoted digital technologies and the development of UAVs in the defense sector, he was unable to implement the promised mobilization reform.
It should be noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans large-scale personnel changes in the government. The resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada on July 14, and new ministers are expected to be appointed on July 16./axar.az
