Hidayət Heydərov won a silver medal for our country at the European Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
Our latest Olympic champion, competing in the 73-kilogram weight category, faced the local athlete Lasha Shavdatuashvili in the decisive final match and was defeated by his opponent.
It should be noted that on the way to the final, H.Heydərov, who displayed a successful series, consecutively eliminated Konstantinos Tsaparas from Greece in the round of 1/16, Dardan Çenan from Kosovo in the round of 1/8, Dayyan Boulemtafes from France in the quarterfinals, and Bilal Çiloğlu from Turkey in the semifinals.
