"The safe limit for tea consumption is between 3-5 cups per day."
This was stated by Russian nutritionist Anastasiya Efimova in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
It was noted that regular consumption of both black and green tea reduces the risk of stroke and cardiovascular death.
"For example, drinking two to three cups of green tea daily reduces the risk of stroke by approximately 10-15%, and with more regular consumption, the reduction can increase to 20%. These findings have been confirmed by observations among populations in Japan and other countries," the doctor said.
According to the specialist, excessive consumption of the beverage can also lead to various negative outcomes. It is not recommended for those prone to sleep disturbances to drink tea after noon. It was noted that drinking excessive amounts of tea can cause anxiety, tachycardia, and sleep disorders.
