Passenger train services between Tehran and Mashhad have been suspended.
This was reported by the "Tasnim" agency.
This occurred following strikes carried out by the US in Iranian territory during the night. As a result of the strikes, the Tehran-Mashhad railway line was damaged.
It is reported that repair crews have been sent to the site and have started restoring the railway line.
The authorities have prepared an alternative route for passenger movement. According to the new route, passenger transportation in the damaged section will be carried out by road transport.
It should be noted that today the burial of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is planned to take place in the city of Mashhad./"Qafqazinfo"
