Women in Azerbaijan The retirement age will be increased.

Starting next week, the retirement age for women in Azerbaijan will be increased.

Medianews.az reports, citing Trend, that from July 1, 2026, the retirement age for women will be increased by 6 months to reach 65 years.

According to the Law "On Labor Pensions," the retirement age for women is determined by increasing it by 6 months annually from July 1, 2017, to July 1, 2027, and for men from July 1, 2017, to July 1, 2021, as follows:

According to this law, a person who has reached retirement age has the right to an old-age labor pension regardless of insurance experience if the pension capital recorded in the insurance part of the individual's account allows for a pension benefit not less than the minimum amount of labor pension; if it does not allow this pension benefit, then the person has the right to an old-age labor pension if they have at least 25 years of insurance experience (except for persons who were assigned an old-age labor pension before July 1, 2017).

Persons who have reached the retirement age but do not qualify for an old-age labor pension have the right to receive an old-age social allowance (220 manat from January 1, 2023) when they are not working due to disability, according to the Law "On Social Benefits."

According to insurance indicators, the pension amount is determined based on the pension capital accumulated in the individual account. Currently, the minimum pension amount is 320 manat. The old-age labor pension is granted for life.

It should be recalled that the retirement age for women was last increased by 6 months on July 1, 2025, to 64 years and 6 months. This indicator is valid until June 30, 2026.
