It is proposed to expand the list of employees for whom termination of the employment contract is prohibited.
Medianews.az reports, citing Report, that this is reflected in the 2025 report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
The document was submitted for discussion at today's meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis.
It was noted that it is proposed to prohibit the termination of employment contracts of persons over 60 years old.
According to current legislation, termination of employment contracts by the employer is prohibited for: pregnant women, as well as women with children under three years old, men who are single parents raising a child under three years old;
workers whose only source of income is the job they work at and who are single parents raising a child under school age;
workers temporarily incapacitated due to disability.
Among the proposals included in the report is the inclusion of individuals with at least 35 years of service in the civil service, who have the right to a labor pension under preferential conditions, in the list of such persons.
