UEFA's club ranking has been updated.
According to Medianews.az, the top three are England, Italy, and Spain.
Azerbaijan is 26th among 55 UEFA members, Georgia is 53rd, Belarus 49th, Lithuania 45th, Estonia 43rd, Latvia 39th, Kazakhstan 36th, Armenia 34th, Moldova 33rd, Russia 30th, Ukraine 25th, and Turkey is in 9th place.
The ranking is based on coefficients earned in the last five seasons of club tournaments. A win in the qualifying rounds is worth 1 point, a draw half a point; in later rounds, a win is 2 points and a draw 1 point.
Teams that qualify for the league phase of the Champions League receive 6 bonus points; teams placed in the top 8 in that round receive 6 bonus points, those placed 9th to 16th receive 4 bonus points, teams placed 17th to 24th get 2 bonus points, and from the round of 16 onward, each stage grants 1.5 bonus points.
In the Europa League league phase, teams placed in the top 8 receive 6 bonus points, those ranked 9th to 16th receive 4 bonus points, 17th to 24th get 2 bonus points, and from the round of 16 onward each stage grants 1 bonus point.
In the Conference League league phase, teams placed in the top 8 receive 4 bonus points, those ranked 9th to 16th receive 2 bonus points, 17th to 24th get 1 bonus point, and from the round of 16 onward each stage is worth 0.5 bonus points.
The total points are divided by the number of clubs that qualified for continental tournaments from the country, and a coefficient is calculated with a precision of one-thousandth. Azerbaijan earned a coefficient of 5.125 this season.
The 2025-2026 season continues with the league phases of the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. Each league phase features 36 teams: the top 8 advance directly to the round of 16, while those placed 9th to 24th must go through the round of 32.
Azerbaijan's representative "Qarabağ" is ranked 19th in the Champions League league phase.
