This year, after the Argentina national team lost to Spain in the FIFA World Cup final, a video quickly began spreading on social media.
Medianews.az reports that in the video, it is seen that shortly before the Argentina national team went out for the final match, captain Lionel Messi is trying to calm the players down.
Messi tells his teammates: "Calm down, guys, just think about the game. Don’t think about anything else. Calm down, forget everything, forget everything. Just think about the game."
It is precisely these words and the tone of the captain’s voice that caught the fans' attention. Many viewers noted that the players appeared tense, anxious, and lacking energy, unlike in previous games.

A user on the "X" social network wrote: "I’m someone who doesn’t believe in conspiracy theories. But Messi’s statement here looks very strange and doesn’t fit the situation. There is anxiety on the players’ faces, and their energy is very low. This is not the Argentina we saw throughout the championship."
Another user commented on the video: “Everyone pays attention to what Messi said. However, what’s stranger is the players’ facial expressions and body language. They almost seem like a team that has already lost. It’s as if something has already happened to most of the team.”
During the discussions, the words of Argentina’s head coach Lionel Scaloni after the final were also recalled. Although Scaloni said certain events occurred before the match, he refused to disclose details "out of respect for the tournament." This statement gave rise to various speculations.
There were even unfounded claims on social media that the final was allegedly a fixed match. However, none of these versions have been confirmed with evidence or officially validated.
The well-known Argentine journalist Eduardo Feynman also commented on the incident. According to him, rumors circulated that before the final, FBI agents were present at the stadium and were preparing to arrest Claudio Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association.
Feynman claimed that this rumor caused concern within the Argentine squad and that the gossip reached the players as well.
“I think some points will come to light soon,” the journalist added, noting that Tapia’s name appears in some investigations conducted both in Argentina and the US.
According to this version, Messi’s call to “forget everything” was specifically related to the rumor spread before the final, and aimed to direct the players’ focus solely on the game.
However, so far neither Messi, nor Scaloni, nor other representatives of the Argentina team have explained exactly what the captain meant by "forget everything." For this reason, the video continues to spark discussions and various speculations on social media.
