In Poland, a person has been placed under sanitary surveillance on suspicion of hantavirus infection.
The "RMF FM" radio reported this, citing the country's chief sanitary inspector.
"The reason is possible contact with a passenger on the cruise ship where hantavirus was detected," the report stated.
Although the person under observation shows no signs of the disease, specialists have implemented a seven-day quarantine.
Recall that last week the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the spread of hantavirus on the "MV Hondius" cruise liner traveling from Argentina to Cabo Verde. Several infection cases were recorded on the ship, and three infected individuals could not be saved.
On May 10, the ship arrived at the port of Tenerife Island, Spain, after which the evacuation of passengers began. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the evacuation of people is planned in 10 flights. The first group of passengers, consisting of 14 Spanish citizens, was taken to one of the hospitals in the capital./oxu.az
