Medianews.az reports, citing Musavat.com, that the championship management has decided not to hold the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix due to the security situation in the region.
The president and CEO of the championship, Stefano Domenicali, stated that the decision was not made easily. According to him, this step was taken considering the current situation in the Middle East and the security risks.
Domenicali noted that the organizers initially discussed various alternative options such as holding the races in other countries or changing the calendar. However, in the end, it was decided not to replace these stages with other races.
Thus, two Middle Eastern stages that hold an important place in the season's calendar will not take place.
