The crew of the "Safir Shahzade" cruise ship moving in the Mediterranean Sea gave an alarm signal after seeing life jackets in the sea. During the search operation that started, the bodies of 5 people were recovered from the water within 3 hours.

The crew initially saw an orange object in the water, and after determining it was a life jacket, the ship changed direction and headed to the scene of the incident. The first body was discovered shortly after, and then the operation was expanded.
According to the information, as a result of the approximately 3-hour search, a total of 5 dead bodies were found. The ship's captain stated that the operation was completed.
One of the witnesses of the incident described what happened as "very shocking," saying that the passengers were in shock.
According to initial assumptions, the bodies are believed to belong to illegal migrants. The incident occurred while the ship was between Spain and North Africa and docked at the port of Cartagena the next day.
