The average price of 1 gallon (3.785 liters) of gasoline at gas stations in the USA has risen to $3.72.
Medianews.az reports, citing the American Automobile Association, which monitors prices at more than 60,000 gas stations in the United States, that the sale of 1 gallon of gasoline at $3.72 is the highest recorded since October 7, 2023.
Since February 28, when the USA and Israel started a war against Iran, the price of 1 gallon of gasoline in the USA has increased by 74 cents.
The price of diesel fuel has increased even faster. Since the start of the war, diesel has risen by $1.24 to an average of $4.99. Thus, the price of diesel has approached the $5 mark for the first time since December 2022.
The increase in fuel prices is already affecting the transportation sector. Some freight companies have started to apply additional fuel surcharges due to increased fuel costs. It is likely that these additional costs will ultimately be passed on to consumers.
