From September 12 to 21, 2025, at the European Championship held in Lido Jesolo, Italy, in the WAKO version of kickboxing among Youth, Adolescents, and Cadets, our National team showed a high performance.
Ajans.az reports that overall our National team won 5 Gold, 6 Silver, and 10 Bronze medals, rising to 14th place among 41 countries participating in this prestigious competition!
First and foremost, we express our gratitude to Mr. Adil Aliyev, the Honorable President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation and Executive Head of Surakhani district, who has always supported us, and to Mr. Orkhan Aliyev, the President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation who has an irreplaceable role in the development of kickboxing, for their comprehensive support, and CONGRATULATE them on this magnificent victory!
Eduard Mammadov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation, on my behalf thanks all members of the National team, mainly the coaching staff including Head Coach Hikmat Hajiyev, especially the Federation's Secretary General Ilkin Masimzade, and the WAKO-assessed AKF Referees team led by International A-category referee Aydin Agabeyov for their persistent work!
Sabina Giyasova, a member of the referees' board and a republican and international level referee, was chosen as the best female ring referee of the competition in addition to obtaining the international A category.
Additionally, we express our deep gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which supports the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation in every competition we participate in!
