UEFA has punished Ukraine's "Shakhtar Donetsk" club and the team's coach Arda Turan regarding the incident in the UEFA Conference League.
Medianews.az, citing "Qafqazinfo," reports that the incident took place during the first leg of the Conference League quarter-final match between Shakhtar Donetsk and the Dutch team AZ Alkmaar.
The match ended with a 3-0 score in favor of the Ukrainian representative.
In the 5th minute of the match, Shakhtar's player Isake sustained a head injury after a collision with an opposing player. After receiving medical aid, the player continued playing but left the field in the 24th minute due to a deterioration in his condition.
According to UEFA's decision, Shakhtar Donetsk and Arda Turan were fined for "failing to follow the concussion protocol during the player's serious injury."
The club will pay a fine of 10,000 euros, and Arda Turan will pay a fine of 20,000 euros. Additionally, Shakhtar Donetsk is required to hold special training sessions regarding concussion protocols for three members of the staff.
UEFA also fined the club an additional 20,000 euros for "using unethical messages during sporting events."
