Erling Haaland's father: "The referee saved the England national team"

After the Norwegian national team was eliminated from the UEFA Euro 2026 quarterfinals by losing 1-2 to England, Erling Haaland's father, Alfie Haaland, sparked an interesting discussion on social media.

Medianews.az, citing Sport24.ru, reports that Alfie Haaland attributed the defeat to the referee's decisions.

British journalist Henry Winter commented on the course of the match and wrote on social network "X" about England player Jude Bellingham's performance:

"Ødegaard started to control the game. ‘England is going home,’ read the Norwegian fans. But Bellingham decided that would not happen. He took the initiative and responsibility, created chances, and took advantage of them. What a magnificent player. As someone who has covered England games in the last 35 years, this is the best thing I have seen."

Alfie Haaland gave a harsh reaction to the journalist's post: "Are you serious? The referee saved you. I hope you win the World Cup. But I have this feeling that today justice was trampled on."
