Yusif Dursunov became the European champion.
The U20 European Wrestling Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, has concluded.
On the last day of the competition, medalists were determined among the freestyle wrestlers competing in the 61, 74, 86, 92, and 125 kg categories.
Camal Abbasov (61 kg) took silver after losing in the final to Russian Usman Indirbayev (2:13), and Nurlan Agazade (74 kg) also claimed silver, defeated by German Manuel Vaqin (2:4) in the decisive bout.
Məhəmməd Abbaszadə (86 kg) defeated Israeli Tomer Drojnyak with a score of 7:1 to secure third place. Hüseyn Məmmədtağızadə (92 kg) lost the bronze medal match to Georgian Sandro Kuraşvili—1:12.
In the final contest of the European Championship, Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) faced Russian Soslan Qabuyev. The final was contested under intense struggle. Falling behind 0:3, our compatriot showed true determination and made a comeback. In the end, Yusif won 4:3 and became the U20 European champion.
