The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has kept the exchange rate of the US dollar stable for 7 years and 11 months.
Medianews.az reports that during the devaluations of 2015, the official dollar rate rose from 0.7844 manat to 1.5594 manat, reaching 1.7707 manat in 2016.
The maximum rate was recorded in February 2017: 1.92 manat. The dollar, which ended that year at 1.7001 manat, has been offered to banks at 1.7 manat since March 7, 2018.
The manat is protected in currency auctions. The State Oil Fund sold funds amounting to 50.1 billion US dollars in currency auctions conducted by the Central Bank from 2016 to 2024. A similar sales volume of 4.3 billion dollars was reported for the three quarters of 2025.
