Currently, the Media Development Agency finances five issues per week of the daily newspapers - "Yeni Azərbaycan", "Yeni Müsavat", "525-ci qəzet", "Bakı xəbər", "Səs" and "Şərq", providing them with 18,000 manats per month together with their internet versions.
Starting next year, the agency will only provide financial support for the printing of one issue per week of the newspapers, paying them 8,000 manats per month together with the internet version.
For this reason, some daily newspapers plan to reduce their frequency and switch to weekly publication in 2026.
Are any changes planned for the "Yeni Azərbaycan" newspaper that is published every day except Sunday and Monday?
Medianews.az addressed this question to the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, Alqış Həsənoğlu.
Alqış Həsənoğlu stated that there will be no change in the frequency of "Yeni Azərbaycan" newspaper.
Thus, in 2026, "Yeni Azərbaycan" will once again be published daily.

Alqış Həsənoğlu has worked at "Yeni Azərbaycan" newspaper since 1993, served as editor-in-chief between 1997-2008, and was reappointed to the position on September 10, 2021.
Born in 1969, Alqış Həsənoğlu holds a PhD candidate degree in philology and is an honored journalist. He was a member of the National Assembly from 2003 to 2005.
