Iran is now effectively participating in the war against Ukraine by supplying Russia with “Shahed” drones and the technology for their production.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Sky News.
Zelensky was asked whether, given Tehran's threats, there was a direct risk of Iran attacking Ukraine. The President said that the attack has already occurred, just in a different form: "If Iran provided Russia with a new base from the first year of the war, supplied thousands of these ‘Shahed’ drones in the first year, and then granted production licenses — isn’t that an attack on us? I believe it is."
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is trying not to open a new front and is acting cautiously, but there is no point in hiding what is obvious.
"The Iranians and North Koreans have already attacked us," the president said.
He recalled that both countries supplied drones, rockets, and 155 mm artillery shells to the Kremlin during the Russian occupation without Kyiv's warning or provocation, and also mentioned the 10,000 North Korean soldiers involved in the war.
"We cannot trust these people," Zelensky concluded.
