In the period from January to June of this year, Azerbaijan exported 76,930 tons of potatoes.
According to Milli.Az, citing the State Customs Committee, the value of this volume of potatoes was 29 million 389 thousand US dollars.
Compared to the same period last year, this is 7,852 tons (11.4%) more in volume and 1 million 895 thousand dollars (6.9%) more in value.
During the reporting period, the revenue from potato exports had a small share in Azerbaijan's export revenues.
It should be noted that in 6 months, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth 24 billion 661 million US dollars with foreign countries. This is 1.1% more annually.
Of the foreign trade turnover, 16 billion 320 million US dollars accounted for exports, and 8 billion 341 million US dollars for imports. In the last year, exports increased by 26.7%, while imports decreased by 27.6%. As a result, a positive balance of 7 billion 979 million dollars was formed in foreign trade. This is 5.9 times more annually.
