An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred in Battalgazi district of Malatya province, Turkey.
Medianews.az reports that the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of Turkey has issued a statement regarding this.
According to the information, the underground tremors were recorded at 09:00 local time (10:00 Baku time) at a depth of 7.03 kilometers.
The epicenter of the earthquake was the Battalgazi district. The tremors were also felt in surrounding provinces including Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, and Adana.
After the earthquake, there was a brief state of alarm, with many residents leaving their homes and moving to open areas.
The Kandilli Observatory measured the depth of the earthquake as 4.4 kilometers.
